Most of us are walking contradictions. We say one thing, we mean another. We make decisions against our best interests. We form snap judgements even when we know better. And we hold others to standards that we’re unwilling or unable to hold for ourselves.

This tension has a sense of humor. But it’s also scary because at its core, it shapes every part of our lives, from mass media to history books, right down to our most intimate relationships.

Making sense of all this has been my fascination for years, and it’s what led me to create this space. To expose and explore these grey areas. To ask myself (and you) why they exist in the first place. And, let’s be honest, sometimes just to vent.

The author

I’m not a journalist, activist, or social scientist. Just a normal person with lots of opinions and some contradictions of my own. I have a day job making Power Points. I live in the Pacific Northwest. I’m first-generation Polish and yes, I do speak it. I hate camping and small talk. I love dogs and pool parties. I’m a prodigy at useless trivia and a secret DJ with an itch for disco house.

My name is Ann. All views are my own.
